Banijay Rights has reached a deal with EPIX to release the six-part limited series SAS: Rogue Heroes in the USA
Produced by Kudos and Nebulastar, SAS: Rogue Heroes is a dramatized account of the formation of the SAS, a unit of British special forces, during the darkest days of WWII. It centers around David Stirling, played by Connor Swindells (Sex education, Vigil), which creates a radical plan for a small undercover unit to wreak havoc behind enemy lines.
The series, based on the book of the same name by Ben Macintyre, is being developed for television and written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders, Taboo, A Christmas Carol) and will be directed by Tom Shankland (The snake, Missing). Stephen Smallwood (The snake, Patrick melrose) is a producer, with Tommy Bulfin of the BBC and Karen Wilson, Martin Haines and Emma Kingsman-Lloyd of Kudos as executive producer.
SAS: Rogue Heroes was commissioned by the BBC and will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK
