The highly anticipated new season of Celebrity chef debuted on Sunday night and it looks like Australian viewers loved immersing themselves in the star-studded spinoff series.
Hosted by Judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo, Celebrity chef sees a cast of famous faces go head-to-head in a culinary showdown to raise money for charity.
An “absolutely wonderful” celebrity spin-off
And according to the reactions on social media, fans loved immersing themselves in the scorching portion of goodness of “positive and healthy” celebrities.
“Being able to watch something so positive and light is exactly what is needed at this point in the Melbourne lockdown,” one viewer wrote on Twitter.
“I already adore the #MasterChefAU celebrity,” added another.
“So this season of Celebrity #MasterChefAU is absolutely wonderful. The best healthy vibes. Exactly what we need right now! I can’t wait for the next episode!” declared a third party.
Others were particularly pleased with the eclectic mix of sports heroes, music icons, and TV stars.
“Channel 10 pulled off that cast of the series! So healthy,” one fan tweeted.
“A great program! I find it very interesting so far. Normal dishes !!!” added another.
“So excited to watch Celebrity MasterChef !!! Wonderful looks in there,” wrote a third.

football player Archie Thompson, 42; TV and radio host Chrissie Swan, 47; fashion designer Collette Dinnigan, 55; singer Dami Im, 32, singer; 36-year-old comedian Dilruk Jayasinha; former Olympian Ian Thorpe, 38; Offspring actor Matt Le Nevez, 42; AFL player Nick Riewoldt, 38; Wrapped in rafters actress Rebecca Gibney, 56, and culinary offspring Tilly Ramsay, 19.
There were a few emerging fan favorites already, with the unexpected comedic duo of Chrissie Swan and Rebecca Gibney proving popular.
“Let’s keep Gibney and Swan on the same bench all season, huh?” tweeted a viewer.
Others praised Ian Thorpe for stepping in to help fellow competitors after finishing his own dish.
“Thorpie helping others. I love him damn,” wrote one.
One viewer was pleasantly surprised by the teenage offspring of famous TV chef Gordon Ramsay.
“This is my first watch of anything Tilly Ramsay and how awesome is she? Love it,” they remarked.
a Offspring the fan couldn’t help but refer to star Matt Le Nevez and the tragic death of his beloved character, Dr Patrick Reid.
“Patrick is back to haunt us again,” they joked.
In the end, it was comedian Dilruk Jayasinha who received the coveted Immunity Pin for his rendering of stellar beef with coconut rice.

Celebrity MasterChef airs at 7:30 a.m. on Sundays and Mondays at 10 a.m.
