International Firefighters Day: Odisha CM honors heroes who saved lives


Bhubaneswar: On International Firefighters Day, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hailed the heroes for their bravery, dedication and sacrifices to ensure the safety of precious lives and property.

May 4 is celebrated as International Firefighters Day. The special day is marked to honor firefighting experts who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

On May 4, people wear a symbolic badge made of red and blue ribbons to express their gratitude to all martyred firefighters. For those who don’t know, red and blue are the main elements of a firefighter’s job because red denotes fire and blue symbolizes water.
