Black Panther is one of Marvel Studios’ most successful films as it grossed $1.3 billion. It’s also the only Marvel Studios film to win a Best Picture Oscar, but Marvel is pushing for more Marvel films to be considered. Ryan Coogler is returning to direct the sequel, but that movie had a lot of challenges. First of many was the tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman to cancer – this necessitated the rewriting of the entire script, which delayed the film until its November release.
Marvel Studios has made it clear that they won’t be recasting T’Challa in honor of Chadwick Boseman, but many have speculated who will take up the Black Panther mantle. Many have speculated that T’Challa’s sister Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, could be the one to become the next Black Panther.

Miscellaneous reports sources led fans to believe that Black Panther will introduce Atlantis to the MCU with Namor and other Atlantis characters in direct conflict with Wakanda, possibly leading to war.
The inclusion of Atlantis would be significant for the MCU when it comes to diving into other regions of Earth that haven’t been explored – but fans can easily confuse Namor with Jason Momoa’s Aquaman. On December 16, 2022, DC Comics and Warner Bros.’ Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom should be released in theaters.
Then, a month later, black panther 2 is also likely to introduce Atlantis to Kevin Feige’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. One The source underline:
Marvel Studios has been laying the groundwork for Atlantis and Namor to appear in the MCU for years. Iron Man 2 features a SHIELD logo on a map above the ocean. Avengers: Endgame featured a reference to an undersea earthquake, and more recently, the Eternals event featured the Celestial Tiamut emerging from the Indian Ocean, which likely would have caused major disruption to Atlantis.

On top of that, Gargantos, a creature ready to fight Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in his upcoming sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness which hits theaters May 6, is a minion of the wizard Naga who is one of Namor’s enemies in the comics. Doctor Strange is also meant to tease the Defenders, who had Namor as one of the original team members.
Currently, Marvel Studios is teasing the creation of several Avenger-like groups, such as the Young Avengers, the Thunderbolts, and now the Defenders. If Namor came across as a likely enemy to Wakanda, it would be interesting to see Namor interact with the rest of the world as Eternals showed that fans don’t like heroes who suddenly decide to act. Luckily, Namor has plenty of motivation to show up as Tiamut could damage Atlantis.
